HPC Industrial Environmental Technician III in Westlake, Louisiana

The Environmental Technician will provide support to work during Industrial tank cleaning operations which will entail following all site-specific safety guidelines and protocols; as well as, following instructions from the site supervisory personnel.
Furthermore, as a representative of the company, the Environmental Technician will carry out all tasks with a clean appearance and professional demeanor.
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must be able to get to and from airport or other meeting point where the company will provide transportation to and from the job site.
Must be willing to travel for up to 2 months at a time
Must be able to pass a background check
Must be able to pass a hair follicle, breath, and urine drug tests.
Must be willing to work up to 84 hours weekly.
Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs from floor to waist on an occasional basis.
Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs from floor to shoulder level on an occasional basis
lift at least 25 lbs from floor to overhead on an occasional basis
Must be able to carry at least 30 lbs with one hand for a minimum distance of 100 feet on level surface
Must be able to carry at least 50 lbs with two hands for a minimum distance of 100 feet on level surface
Must be able to pull horizontally with a peak force of at least 90 lbs
Must be able to push horizontally with a peak force of at least 90 lbs
Must be able to generate a grip force of at least 60 lbs with each hand.
Must be able to able to enter and exit a 24” diameter storage tank manway with supplied air equipment on.
Must be dependable and always maintain a good work ethic.
Must be able to wear full HazMat PPE and enter a confined space for extended periods of time.
Must have a TWIC card
Responsible for safety policies and procedures of both the company and the customer, including hands-on information regarding operations, safety, equipment, emergency response and administrative functions.
Transporting, carrying, and connecting hoses, fittings, pumps, and other site related equipment
Monitoring and operation of special equipment such as pumps, breathing air equipment, and tools to enable the cleaning of tanks.
Operate equipment according to procedures and safe practices
Ability to follow orders from site supervisory personnel
Donning and doffing HazMat PPE and entering confined spaces to aid in the cleaning of large storage tanks.
May be required to perform physically strenuous duties such as removal of product or sludges while in the tank wearing HazMat PPE
Additional duties as assigned
Working Environment:
Industrial setting, refinery, petrochemical, utilities, pulp and paper mills, etc.
Outside in all elements and conditions.
Inside of confined spaces with full HazMat apparel including breathing air lines or respirators
Skills and Experience:
- Refinery tank cleaning is preferred; however, offshore, drilling, chemical handling, military experience is also acceptable.
